Why Signal Muppets?

Well, most of us know that those who talk a lot about traffic signals as much as they do that they are affectionately known as “Signal Muppets”!

The idea for this has come about from a number of phone calls wanting to know certain information on equipment, training or where someone was working now. The website is one where traffic signal designers and alike are able to find out where the latest information on equipment can be obtained, also a forum, and providing links to other websites where technical and training information can be found.

The intention is that if engineers wish to let other engineers where they are working now or wish to keep in touch with others that Signal Muppets will arrange this a bit like Muppets Reunited!

The Vision.

Any feedback on the website would be welcomed or wish to suggest any other additional information!

Recently there has been a lot of information given about becoming an Incorporated Engineer, Chartered Engineer, taking the Traffic Signal Certificate or even what to do for I Eng Reviews. Signal Muppets, with the help from the Institute of Highway Incorporated Engineers (IHIE), will endeavour to assist engineers.

There are now a number of women in engineering, especially within traffic signal design and maintenance and therefore at Signal Muppets it is the intention to promote and encourage this together with various articles written by women in this profession.
